Acne is a common skin disease that usually occurs on the face, neck, shoulders, back and chest. Millions of people are suffering from this skin disorder at some point in their lives.

Young adults and adolescents are more prone to acne. For most people, this skin disease may go away when they reached their thirties but there are unlucky ones who continue to suffer from acne even after thirties.

It can be really difficult to deal with unsightly acne because it affects one’s physical appearance. Although acne is not a threatening health issue, it can be a cause of embarrassment and emotional stress.

People with acne usually have low self-esteem and unhappy with their physical appearance. If not treated early, acne could leave permanent scars on the skin.

It can be very hard to deal with unsightly acne if you do not know what to do. The following tips can be very helpful in dealing with unsightly acne.

Seek professional help. Acne affects not only the skin but also the psychological and emotional state of a person and if you find it hard to deal with unsightly acne on your own, do not hesitate to seek professional help.

Acne is usually treated by dermatologists. Your doctor may recommend drugs to heal the existing acne, prevent the formation of new ones and prevent scarring.

Eat a well-balanced diet to get all the nutrients you need to keep a healthy skin and body. Get enough sleep because lack of sleep could result to a number of health and skin issues including acne.

Lack of sleep could weaken one’s immune system and this could result to skin related problems like skin rashes and acne. A complete night sleep is good for your skin.

Be gentle on your skin. In dealing with unsightly acne, basic skin care knowledge can be very helpful to control acne or avoid the situation from getting worse.

Avoid touching, squeezing and rubbing the affected area to prevent scarring and infections. It is important to wash your face twice a day with mild soap to remove dirt, dead skin and excess oil but avoid too much washing because it could result to skin irritation so be gentle with your skin.

Avoid strong soap, astringent and facial scrub because these can cause skin irritation and can aggravate your condition.

Cosmetics and acne concealers may also serve as irritants so as much as possible avoid heavy make up and foundation.

Remove your makeup before going to bed to avoid clogging of pores. Choose your makeup carefully, choose oil free or water-based or non-comedogenic products but it is much better if you can live without makeup.

Keep your hair clean and avoid styling products as your hair could occasionally touch your face or as much as possible keep your hair off your face.

Alternative treatments. Dealing with unsightly acne using natural treatment is an option for people who are into natural treatments.

Some natural treatments include topical treatments with tea tree oil, azelic acid found in animal products and whole grain cereals and alpha hydroxyl acids found in citrus fruits.

I’m very grateful for my beautiful wife Marlena who happens to be an amazing cook. I think everything she makes is delicious even though I’m an extremely picky eater.

I eat chicken very rarely and beef only once a year and it has to be farm raised (free range). We eat almost entirely organic, too.
I’m Peruvian and came to the states back in 1991. The biggest change for us (besides the language) was the food. We grew up eating everything organic and fresh. 
I’m glad to be eating this way for the last 6+ years now, I feel much better, not to mention I have lots of energy to do my work (roofing business). 
I don’t drink any coffee or power drinks and I have more energy than most of the guys I work with, and they drink all kinds of caffeinated drinks and energy drinks.
I feel fortunate to come across a healthy, plant based, mostly vegetarian lifestyle when I did. Now I have excellent health and digestion and I don’t worry about diseases that are so common today like I used to. 
Prior to living this way, aging terrified me. But now I feel younger than I did ten years ago!
