Alternatives To All Natural Organic Skin Care Products

There is a great trend towards cutting chemicals and processed ingredients out of our lives, and becoming more natural. This trend is great for the environment and for the health of individuals. However, not everyone is able to afford all natural organic skin care products and hormone-free, free range meats.

Also, some people do not have the time or the knowledge they need to implement all of the necessary changes toward a natural lifestyle. However, you can still make the commitment without having all of the resources and the knowledge you will eventually need. Start small, and implement changes step by step, one at a time. Here are a few tips for getting started.

Eating real food is one of the best ways to begin. Lots of people include too many unnecessary processed foods in their diets. Here are some areas where you can start to make these changes. You will probably find that buying less processed food and more whole ingredients saves money rather than costing more.

1. Meat. Even if you cannot afford free-range, hormone free meat all the time, you can avoid overly processed frozen meats like chicken nuggets and fish sticks. If you want these things, buy the meat and the breading, and make them from scratch. The meat you buy should be easily identifiable as the meat that it is, even without reading the label.

2. Sweets (Cakes, cookies, etc.). Walk right past the snack cakes and packaged cookies that usually occupy an entire aisle of the grocery store. There are far too many preservatives and chemicals, and these bakes goods are usually a lot higher in calories and fat than they need to be. Try baking your own sweets. Your house will smell amazing, and you will save money as well as being healthier.

3. Bread. Whole wheat bread, muffins, tortillas, and bagels are always better options than their white counterparts, which are made from bleached flour. Even some “whole grain” breads have bleached flour as their main ingredient. Choose breads labled “100% whole wheat, ” or make your own bread from scratch.

Two other areas to make improvements are your cleaning and beauty products. You can find inexpensive alternatives to many of the chemical culprits right in your own kitchen. Many people skip the harsh cleaning agents and use vinegar, which has natural cleaning properties, instead. If you don’t believe it, try soaking a stained coffee pot in vinegar and see what happens. Olive oil is another things with multiple uses; it is a wonderful skin and hair moisturizer.

There is no need to be discouraged if you cannot afford to purchase all natural organic skin care products or fancy expensive foods. You can start small, one step at a time. There may be programs such as government food assistance that can help to increase your food purchasing power. Also, look for places where you can buy food and other things wholesale to decrease the expense. You don’t have to go broke to go natural!
